The quality of the thatch roofing

The thatch roofing that we install not only looks good, it is also made up of an extra-thick layer of reed. We use a standard thickness of 35 cm, where 25-30 centimetres is usually the norm. The extra-thick layer of reed in the thatch roofing provides for better insulation and increased longevity (40 to 50 years). The average lifespan of other thatched roofs is 25 to 30 years.
Our thatchers use only the best reed available (quality type 1). And even though it is not always easy to find this type of reed, we never lower our standards.

The method of thatching

Our first step usually involves an intensive round of information-gathering, advice and consultation with you, our client. Once the plan for your thatched roof is in place, our thatchers go straight to work. They carry out the thatching work in a neat and structured manner, and they also make sure that they leave your premises looking spick-and-span at the end of the day.
